Samsung will stop supporting a Galaxy app starting in 2024. You can find out what users should prepare for here.
There's bad news for users of the video library app: as in Samsung Forum It can be read, the Galaxy device manufacturer currently reports that the app will be retired on January 1, 2024. Due to the no longer rolling out of updates, it is no longer possible to use the app under Android 14 / One UI 6.
After the deadline, the video library can only be used by smartphones that meet the following criteria:
- Android operating system 6 to 13
- Samsung Galaxy S5 to S23
- Galaxy Note 4 to Note 20
- All Galaxy Z, A and M models
That's why Samsung has ended video library support

The main reason why Samsung discontinued this app is that the app is rarely used anymore. The video library barely distinguishes itself from the gallery and video player apps on Galaxy smartphones. So there is hardly any reason to use the alternative.
As the name suggests, video library is a type of gallery app specifically designed for videos. Samsung continues its strategy of removing unnecessary or rarely used apps from its lineup with One UI updates, which of course also affects the storage space required on the smartphone.
