Rarely, very rarely, are political speeches legendary. Barack Obama rose to public consciousness with his 17-minute speech at the 2004 US Democratic Party convention. His 2008 “Yes We Can” speech was also groundbreaking. Nelson Mandela’s speech in court in 1964 and Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech are also memorable.
And it was always about inclusion.
Of course, the recent speech by Alice Weidel, co-leader of the AfD, in Abensberg, Bavaria, during a folk festival, does not fall into this category. However, she definitely had her memorable moments. But listen to yourself:
