Developer miHoYo doesn’t take a break between holidays and has now posted details of the first update coming in 2022. Version 2.4 will bring you the lantern rituals for the New Year’s Festival, as well as a new area with Enkanomiya and two new characters with Shinhee and Yoon Jin.
The update titled ‘Passing Colors in Flight’ is scheduled for January 5, 2022. The developers introduce you to the new Enkanomiya area as follows:
Unlike the other islands of Inazuma, Enkanomiya is a huge floating island that is constantly invaded by the abyss. The ancestors of the Watatsumi people once lived there, leaving behind the ruins of an ancient civilization older than any other found on Earth. With no day or night below the surface, players will find a way to harness Dainichi Mikoshi, the artificial sun developed by ancient civilization, while getting lost in the mysteries and depths of Enkanomiya.
