Former US sports doctor who was convicted of sexual assault Larry Nassar was stabbed in prison, the media reported.
The Associated Press reported that the incident occurred during an argument with another inmate.
Nassar was stabbed in the back and chest. And the American ABC station reported that his condition is stable.
And the US prison authorities announced that an inmate was attacked and taken to hospital. She did not provide information about the identity of the victim, citing the privacy of the detainees and security reasons. The incident is being investigated internally.
As a longtime USA Gymnastics Federation physician, Nassar sexually assaulted several young gymnasts. He had been convicted of assault on more than 250 counts in three sentences with sentences totaling up to 175 years in prison. Nassar pleaded guilty in November 2017.
