Several McDonald's stores in Japan have stopped accepting in-person and mobile customer orders due to a computer outage, a spokeswoman for McDonald's Holdings Company Japan said.

“We are aware of a technical outage affecting our restaurants; the issue is now being resolved,” McDonald's said in a statement.
McDonald's Australia said some of its restaurants are back online and serving customers following the outage, and it is working to restore the remaining stores.
The fast food chain has about 40,000 restaurants worldwide, including more than 14,000 in the United States. The company operates nearly 3,000 stores in Japan and about 1,000 in Australia, according to its websites for those regions.
The outage also affected customers in Hong Kong, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, who took to social media to complain about disruptions at branches.
The New York Times reported that McDonald's Hong Kong experienced a “systems error” and that its mobile ordering systems and self-ordering kiosks were not working.
Earlier this month (link) , Meta-owned companies Facebook and Instagram also struggled with technical issues that disrupted services for hundreds of thousands of users worldwide for more than two hours.
