Two weeks before the congressional elections, support for President Joe Biden continued to dwindle among American citizens.
US President Joe Biden, 79, appears to be losing support in the country. According to a Reuters/Ipsos survey on Tuesday, Biden’s approval rating is just 39 percent.
This is one percentage point lower than the previous week. The pollsters identified the state of the US economy as the most important issue facing the country.
Mid-term is approaching
The congressional (midterm) elections will be held on November 8. The entire House of Representatives and one-third of the members of the Senate are elected. Biden himself is not on the ballot.
But the stakes are high for Biden. If the Democrats lose a majority in just one chamber of Congress, the Republicans could make it more difficult for him to govern until the next presidential election in 2024. 1,005 adults participated in the online poll. (SDA)
