Helmstedt. “Let communities lead” – this is the international slogan for World AIDS Day in 2023. It is intended as a reminder that effective HIV prevention and work with people living with HIV can only succeed in cooperation with their communities. World AIDS Day has been observed on December 1 every year for more than 30 years. The region makes it clear that all people are called to live together without prejudice or exclusion, because those affected still suffer from exclusion and stigma. The aim is to raise awareness of how important it is to live together without prejudice and exclusion – thus demanding respect and acceptance is the top priority.
As is the case every year, the Gifhorn District Health Department, in cooperation with the AIDS organization Hilvi Wolfsburg e. Fifthly, this concern.
