Steyr/Vienna. During the international match between Austria and Germany, the 2023 #socialfootball awards awarded by the Austrian Football Association were lost at half-time. With the “SKV pro Mente” team, Vorwärts took first place in the “Inclusion” category. ÖFB President Klaus Mitterdorfer and Vice-Chancellor and Sports Minister Werner Kugler presented the award in a sold-out Happelstadion.
“Together with the professional SKV team, we have created something unique. We live inclusion every day. We are happy that this commitment has been recognized by ÖFB. It is a wonderful recognition of the many (volunteer) hours that have poured into the project and continue to flow into it. This award is also unique One of a kind for us. Receiving the award in this unique setting and the journey together to win the international match against Germany was an unforgettable experience. We will continue to advocate for inclusion while raising flags in the future. For example, in 2025, we would like to host the EASI Cup (a kind of European Championship In the psychosocial field) at the Vorwärtsstadion in Steyr. We are applying to host the EASI Cup in the hope that cooperation like ours will continue to spread throughout Europe and that more social clubs will come with the logos of professional football clubs on their chests. – Markus Hofer, Social Advisory Board of SKV and leader of the Pro-Mind team.
