Hackers steal over $600 million in cryptocurrency

Thefts are common in the cryptocurrency world, but they have a massive new dimension: hackers have seized nearly $600 million worth of cryptocurrency in the United States. But not all is lost, nearly half of the loot is said to have resurfaced in the meantime.

According to the Cryptonews portal, hackers stole $273 million from Ethereum — the cryptocurrency, Ether, which is the second largest cryptocurrency after Bitcoin — about $253 million from Binance Smart Chain and about $85 million from Polygon Network. This was demonstrated by blockchain data from the respective networks.
