Gütersloh, Konrad Adenauer Platz Prize, Prize of the German Federation of Landscape Architects
Konrad Adenauer Platz in front of the Town Hall was honored with “Recognition” during the presentation of the #NRW #Landscape Architecture Prize 2022. In plain language, this means that the experts – Bund Deutscher Landschaftsarchitekten – rated the #redesign as very successful and contemporary.
This is also reflected in the #reasoning of the #jury: “A green urban lounge has been established in a prime location. The green design of the town hall with the #lawn plateau looks pleasantly ‘quiet’ – the fountain field, the flat extended #planting, but above all the lawn plateau, irrigated in summer, ensures pleasant cooling in the summer heat. The former car park has evolved into a popular meeting place within the city thanks to the many informal play and relaxation options… «
A total of 7 out of 32 projects received awards. The award went to the Osnabrück office “Lohaus Carl Köhlmos”, which was responsible for the redesign of the area in front of the town hall.
