Ford recall: parking lights flash | Car engine and sports

Ford is recalling 86,050 vehicles in the United States. The parking lights may flash on the F-150 and Bronco Sport.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the automaker Ford have launched a recall of the Ford Bronco Sport and Ford F-150. Currently 86,050 vehicles are affected in the United States.

The operating frequency of the LED driver unit is 200 Hz. At 200 Hz, the lamp is prone to flickering due to the insufficient capacitance of the capacitor. The parking light may flash in one of the following three conditions. Scenario 1: When the customer manually selects the Mode Light On. Scenario 2: When the customer manually selects the “Headlights On” mode. Scenario 3: When the customer drives in auto headlight mode and the surrounding area becomes dark enough to turn on the “night mode” that lights up the headlights and parking lights.

These models are affected by recall in the United States:

  • Ford Bronco Sport Production period March 19, 2022 to July 28, 2022 (8,246 vehicles)
  • Ford F-150 Production period March 11, 2022 to July 23, 2022 (77,804 vehicles)

Owners will be notified by mail and instructed to take their vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealership for LED driver unit replacement and/or reprogramming. This service is free. The summons can be found at NHTSA under case number 22V-686.
