Williams took the overall win

Welshman Stephen Williams (Israel-PremierTech) won the first World Tour race of the season. The 27-year-old started the final sixth stage of the Down Under over 128.2km from Anley to Mt Lofty as the overall leader and took the day's victory. In the final meters, Williams pulled away from his closest pursuers, pushing Jonathan Narvaez (Ineos Grenadiers) from Ecuador and Mexican Isaac del Torre Romero (UAE Team Emirates) to other places. Swiss Fabian Leinhardt (Groupama – FDJ) and Johan Jacobs (Movistar) finished the Tour in 96th and 124th.
