Club leaders are disturbed by Tuchel’s behaviour

When Thomas Tuchel was introduced as coach at Bayern Munich at the end of March, club bosses at the time heaped praise on the 49-year-old. At the time, Oliver Kahn was still in his position as CEO and Hasan Salihamidzic was sporting director.

Khan in particular was enthusiastic, saying: “I don’t have to discuss his qualities as a coach, they are great.” Now, about five months later, a lot has changed. Kahn and Salihamidžić were no longer the leaders of the German record champions and Thomas Tuchel’s expectations seemed to have evaporated.

The tone at Bayern became tougher, especially that of Thomas Tuchel. After the 3-0 defeat by Leipzig in the Super Cup last Saturday, the coach was at a loss, and he openly admitted it in interviews. On the Sky microphone, for example, he exasperated: “The discrepancy between the condition, the form, the mood we get in and what we get on the pitch is stark. That’s huge. I don’t have a reason for it, it’s just inexplicable to me at the moment.”

It must be such statements that, according to “Sport Bild”, are currently causing “misunderstanding” and anger at Bayern Munich. Because the often announced bad mood should not sit well with the leaders of Bayern Munich.

In addition, the constant complaint that Tuchel still wants a defensive midfielder should not go down so well in the club’s upstairs. Accordingly, club directors Uli Hoeness and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge deemed it sufficient to bring Harry Kane from Tottenham for €100m and dug deep into their pockets for €50m, Min Gay Kim.

According to the report, the club’s management cannot understand why Tuchel’s bad mood was created despite these investments. There is already a history in which these contradictions can be addressed. The Sports Committee meets on Wednesday to discuss the team’s planning for the next season.

Members include Hoeneß and Rummenigge, but also Tuchel, who will certainly want to sign six more again. But not only club bosses find this condition inappropriate. Bayern Munich stars, especially Joshua Kimmich, are also upset.

The 28-year-old sees himself as a defensive midfielder and wants to take on the role that Tuchel wants to fill on a new deal. If the Bayern coach continues to constantly demand six players, not only will he annoy Kimmich, but he could also annoy the bosses and continue to gamble out of credit.
