Nicholas Evans, author of the hit novel “The Horse Whisperer”, has died, this announcement was made by the United Agents Agency in London. A statement said the Briton died unexpectedly on August 9 of a heart attack. The writer was 72 years old.
His debut novel, The Horse Whisperer, published in 1995, has been translated into 40 languages and ranked number one on the bestseller list in 20 countries. A total of 15 million copies went over the counter. The book was also the basis for the 1998 film of the same name, starring Robert Redford.
Evans was born in Worcestershire, England and worked as a journalist before pursuing a career as a writer. He was also successful in his other four novels.
He and his wife, Charlotte, had to deal with the stroke of fate when they suffered severe mushroom poisoning in 2008. Both subsequently required a kidney transplant. In addition to his wife, Evans left behind his four children.
