Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic reached the semi-finals of the ATP Finals in Turin – but the Serbian had to shake his head.
Novak Djokovic will have followed the Green Group evening match closely. Only if former qualifier Jannik Sinners beats Holger Rönn will the Serbian reach the semi-finals of the ATP Finals. And Djokovic had to tremble for a long time: the Italian and the Dane dueled for almost two and a half hours until Sinner’s victory 6:2, 5:7, 6:4 became certain.
Sinner thus secures the win in the set flawlessly, and Djokovic has to be content with second place with two wins from three matches. Ron, on the other hand, has only had one successful elimination – he achieved it after just three matches against Stefanos Tsitsipas.
Djokovic wins in the afternoon
Favorite Djokovic ensured his chances were preserved in the afternoon. The world number one from Serbia beat Polish newcomer Hubert Hurkacz 7:6 (7:1), 4:6, 6:1 in his final group match.

Djokovic had problems early in the match with the serve of Hurkacz, who was replacing the injured Tsitsipas, but he held his nerve in the first set tiebreak. The 36-year-old player gave up the second round, and in the third set, he converted the first match point after the halftime break, making the score 3-1, 5-1, with 2:04 hours of play.
