Amazon said on Wednesday that it will begin delivering packages using drones in Britain, Italy and a third location in the United States. The e-commerce company is part of an effort to expand its air delivery program.

Customers there will have the option of having their packages delivered by drone by the end of 2024, Amazon said in a statement.

Drone deliveries will be integrated into Amazon’s existing fulfillment network and used in same-day delivery locations, the company added.

Amazon’s drone-based service called Prime Air is currently available in Lockford, California and College Station, Texas, where it launched last year.

The online retailer is working on a broader plan to use drones to transport goods, and received federal approval in 2020 to begin testing commercial deliveries in the United States. UPS recently got the green light for long-haul drone transportation in the US.
