After Doncic Extension: Who Clears the Most Money in NBA – US SPORT

Dallas star Luka Doncic (22) has signed his new contract with Supermax. For this purpose, club president Mark Cuban, coach Jason Kidd and club special advisor Dirk Nowitzki traveled to Slovenia to complete the deal.

In Doncic’s hometown of Ljubljana, Kobe, Doncic and his advisors spoke at a special press conference about the deal, which will bring in starting point $207 million over the next five years.

2. Stephen Curry – 215 million.

The 33-year-old goalkeeper is the first star in NBA history to sign two contracts in a row for at least $200 million. He became the NBA Champion with the Golden State Warriors in 2015, 2017, and 2018.

3. Luka Doncic – 207 million.

The 22-year-old Slovenian is the youngest player in NBA history to sign such a high-profile contract. According to the league’s rules, this is only possible because he was called up to the All-NBA First Team in his second and third seasons.

Funny: Right after Doncic’s contract extension, a message on Twitter caused an uproar! Former Dallas teammate JJ Redick shared a message from TNT about the 207 million Slovenian deal and joked, “You still owe me $1,700 in playing cards. Please pay!”

4. Russell Westbrook – 206 million.

The 32-year-old goalkeeper originally signed this huge contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder, but he has also played for the Houston Rockets and more recently with the Washington Wizards – before now signing with the Los Angeles Lakers. These teams had to take over the current contract to sign Westbrook.

5. Rudy Gobert – 205 million.

The French is the big surprise on the list! Defense Specialist (29/three-time Defender of the Year), who just won a silver medal in Tokyo, has a contract with the Utah Jazz that runs through 2026.

By the way, LeBron James (about 85 million annually with the Lakers) is not even in the top 50 list …
