Freiburg freestyle skier Mathilde Grimaud wins the Big Air World Cup in Tignes, France. Andrey Ragitelli comes in third place among men.
For Mathilde Grimaud, it was her 13th World Cup win. The 24-year-old's lead over second-placed Chinese Liu Mengting was large, by 7.5 points. Her first round was rated at 92.25 points, and in her second best round she scored 86 points.
Gremaud won three of the four major air competitions this season (Chur, Peking, Tignes) and finished second at Copper Mountain. Naturally, the crystal ball for grading the discipline went to the Freiburg woman.
Ragitli on the podium
Among the men, Andre Ragitelli kept up with the best in the high-level competition. The Graubünden native scored 92 and 91 points respectively in his scoring outings. Only winners Alexander Hall (USA) and Norwegian Leo Landru received a slightly higher rating. Ragitelli eventually missed out on the win by 3.5 points.
But it also meant he missed out on winning the discipline's rankings. The 25-year-old from Films and Hall entered the final competition on equal points.
