German figure skating champion Kristina Isaev (22) finished 15th in her first showing at the European Championships in Kaunas, Lithuania. Mannheimer, who trains in Oberstdorf, scored 155.28 points in the free skate on Saturday, achieving the best number for this season. After Thursday's short program, Isayev placed 20th.
“I got through it fairly cleanly. Although I felt a little heavy, I was also able to gain a lot of new experiences in my first appearance at the European Championships,” the athletic soldier said. Even in front of a large crowd, more safety on the ice.”
However, the European summit is still far from Isaev. Her free skating lacked technical content and speed compared to the top runners. Belgian Louina Hendricks (213.25) became the European champion, ahead of Anastasia Gubanova from Georgia (206.52) and her 17-year-old compatriot Nina Pinzaroni (202.29).
On Saturday evening (from 5.30pm/1pm) the ice dancers will also crown their European champions. Jennifer Janse van Rensburg and Benjamin Stephan (Oberstdorf) will reach the final. The three-time German champion finished eleventh after the “rhythm dance”. The collected points will be converted into the free decision.
