Federal Chancellor Simonetta Sommaruga (62) in “Soirée Médias”
Corn in the Bundeshuus and sunshine in Locarno
Cinematic background of the first “Soirée Médias”: in Locarno, the Swiss Media Association invited an exclusive tour with Federal Chancellor Simonetta Sommaruga as the guest of honor.
The Swiss Media Society (VSM) celebrated “Soirée Médias” for the first time on Saturday as part of the 75th Locarno Film Festival.
For Ladina Heimgartner, 42, Head of Global Media and CEO of Ringier’s Blick Group, it is the perfect place to bring together an exclusive range of politics, society, art, culture and of course the media, because: “Filmmaking has a huge impact and a lot of common ground with our work. Like media professionals, filmmakers are also historians of their times.”
Tropical conditions
There’s reason to celebrate: Ladina Heimgartner and fellow TX Group member Ursula Nötzli (47), a member of the group’s management, will in the future take a seat on the association’s executive committee. “This will make us the first two women on the board,” says Heimgartner.
In the Teatro Paravento park, the conditions were quite tropical, the ladies were irritating themselves, in the tavern, they were there against tiger mosquitoes. During the panel discussion, led by Christian Dürer (47), Editor-in-Chief of the Blick Group, with guest honoree Federal Chancellor Simonetta Sommaruga (62) and Sunday Blick screenwriter and columnist Thomas Meyer (48, “Cloudburst”), the serious topics of Calm weather.
Thanks to the media
The Information Minister commented on the reports, that things are now happening in the Bundeshaus as in the ‘House of Cards’, with humor: ‘I think it’s a lot like: we have some ‘corn in the Bundeshuus’. The energy crisis presents a formidable challenge and is a good example of the need To produce more domestic energy in Switzerland and reduce dependence on other countries.
In these extraordinary times, the media will independently and critically accompany the formation of political opinions: “It must remain so in the future.” The member of the Federal Council thanked her for this and emphasized: “Only if the big and small players, private and publicly funded players work together, can the Swiss media center take a stand of its own against the big foreign internet platforms.”
The gathering storm clouds couldn’t dampen the atmosphere – then 120 guests watched the movie in Fevi Hall instead of in the arena. “A successful premiere,” says Dürer. “I hope this becomes a tradition.”
