The Golden State Warriors defended their place at the top of the Western Conference with a fairly secure victory over the Portland Trail Blazers. Stephen Curry took his breaks in a 118:103 victory, but he was always really hot.
Golden State Warriors (17-2) – Portland Trail Blazers (10-10) 118: 103 (BOXSCORE)
In the Warriors’ last appearance against Portland in San Francisco, Stephen Curry had put his career best at 62 points, and this time the World Player of the Year favorite wasn’t that hot, but he got enough support. In the end there were still 32 points (12/25 FG, 6/15 three-pointers), 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the goalkeeper, Andrew Wiggins had 25 points (10/16 FG).
Score all five double-start numbers, up to Draymond Green (12, 8 boards, 12 passes, 3 blocks). In Portland, Damian Lillard (16, 5/15, 6 assists), who has been without points for more than 30 minutes and only scored again in the last three minutes, was particularly disappointing. CJ McCollum (16, 6/17) also stayed pale, and instead the best jacket was reserve guard Anfernee Simons (19).
The hosts managed to get really away for the first time shortly before the break. Round 16-2 in the last three minutes of 42:42 turned into a break of 58:44. The popular green and curry mix was on fire, but the Blazers couldn’t find any solutions which caused frustration. Lillard made a technical foul, and assistant coach Scott Brooks grumbled with the referees as he entered the dressing room until he was sent off by two sides.

After that, the Warriors also took control of Will, the lead grew to 21 points, while Lillard didn’t score for what he felt was an eternity. In addition, Norman Powell had to leave the field injured. Instead, it was Anfernee Simons who breathed new life into the Blazers with five changing triples.
In the middle of the fourth quarter, the guests suddenly returned to 8 points after dunking Larry Nance Jr. But then, Carrie was there again. Within 25 seconds, the chef scored twice three times and caused the heads of part of the jackets to droop. Portland couldn’t keep up because, in addition to Curry, Wiggins reliably continued to score and the Blazers’ comeback was blocked.
The Warriors won their sixth game in a row and thus remained the lead in the Western Conference. Sunday evening at 9:30 p.m., the Los Angeles Clippers will continue before their summit meeting with the Phoenix Suns.
