Melanie Weniger and Annina Frey: “It's like I'm winning the lottery”

Melanie Weniger and Annina Frey co-host the Swiss Music Awards. In “On the Rocks”, the two women reveal how much they know about Swiss music.

Friends Melanie Weniger and Annina Frei have some common preferences: horses, music and soon the Swiss Music Awards.

The two women will take to the stage together as presenters for the first time at the most important Swiss music awards.

“It never occurred to me that I could do a show with a friend,” Melanie Weniger says on the blue news show “On the Rocks.”

Meanwhile, Annina Fry adds that this feels like winning the lottery.

Playing the drums caused Weniger to throw tantrums

When moderator Frank Richter asked how musical the two women were, Melanie Weniger said she “didn't have any coordination.” She once tried to learn to play the drums, but it didn't work out: “I had tantrums.”

Annina Frey, on the other hand, has taken her violin out of the box again after a 21-year break, and now lets her voice into her own songs. At some point she would feel the need to use the tool for Your music To rediscover.

Later in the show, Weniger and Frey talked about which songs have had a positive impact on their lives and which ones bother them.

Melanie Weniger admits she can't do anything with the music of Swedish band ABBA. “I don't think Schlager is that bad.”

According to Winiger, people who listen to hit songs are always in a good mood. She prefers people like that over “wannabes” who have the feeling that they invented everything.
