Queen Elizabeth II (95) cannot attend the COP26 summit in Glasgow by herself. The king insisted on greeting the participants with a video message. She became unusually personal and spoke about her late husband, Prince Philip (99). He devoted himself to the fight for climate early on: “I am especially happy with this task. Because the influence of the environment on the development of mankind was a topic especially close to the heart of my beloved husband, Prince Philip. ” While she was speaking, there was a picture of Philip in a flock of butterflies on her desk.
I couldn’t be more proud of her.”
Prince Harry is not in Glasgow
It is notable that the Queen did not mention her other grandson, Prince Harry (37). He and his wife, Duchess Meghan, 40, have also dedicated themselves to fighting climate change. Unlike Charles and William, Harry was not personally present in Glasgow. Is that why his grandmother didn’t mention him? Or did she make the decision because Prince Harry separated from the British Crown and now lives independently in California?
It wasn’t actually planned that Queen Elizabeth II greeted COP26 participants with a video message. She wanted to go to Glasgow by herself. But her doctors prescribed several weeks of relief after her hospital stay. The 95-year-old has since completed her royal duties via a video call from her home office, in her case from Buckingham Palace. (to talk)
