The first half at Grünwalder Straße was marked by several tactical errors. After Jimmy Lawrence (12th), Eyüp Aydin (19) received a yellow card from referee Michael Bacher. Benedict Kirsch (20) and Tobias Weber (21) were also punished in yellow for their stern entry.
Bayern Munich’s second club shows high quality
Shortly after Batista Mayer failed after a fine attack from Munich on SpVgg goalkeeper Sebastian Kolbe, Bayern scored the first goal. Gabriel Vidovic bit off two opponents and dumped the ball (23) down the left to make it 1-0. Alexander Nollenberger (25) and Malik Tillmann (44) saw the following yellow cards.
Ziereis creates equalizer
After two more tactical errors by Marcel Goetz and Felix Webber (50th place), Bayreuth also reported a comeback in terms of sport. Marcos Zerres converted a powerful shot (51) into an unsustainable equalizer. Both sides tried to pull the match over to their side by changing players multiple times. But apart from another yellow card for Daniel Steinger, there was no more upset in this game.
Bayreuth is still the leader of the table
With a draw, SpVgg Bayreuth defended its lead over FC Bayern Munich II, and the lead remained by two points over Upper Franconia. After a 1-1 draw in Aschaffenburg, SpVgg Unterhaching finished 10th.
