The ZSC Lions have one foot in the semi-finals of the playoffs. Mark Crawford's team also won the third match in the quarter-final series against EHC Biel.
Unlike the first two duels, this time it went to overtime. Only after 87:03 grueling minutes was it over at Swiss Life Arena.
After the confrontation, Patrick Gering was encouraged. Yannick Zender blocked his shot with his shovel to make it 3-2. The goal was checked because Zehnder's stick was too high, but the goal was awarded.

Zurich's late save in extra time
In regular time, EHC Biel led 2-1 until 51 seconds before the end. The people of Zurich threw everything forward again; Coach Crawford replaced goaltender Simon Hrubek with a sixth field player.
The risk paid off: Dennis Hollenstein blocked a shot from Yannick Weber with his knee to make it 2-2. Seconds earlier, the puck had nearly slipped into the Lions' empty box to make it 1-3 before Denis Malgin swept it wide at the last minute.
Bial is setting the example, and ZSC is following suit
Bell had previously advanced twice. In the third period, ZSC goalkeeper Hrubec took a shot from Biel's Viktor Lööv over his own goal line. Zurich's response came in the middle of the half, in which both teams created many dangerous opportunities. Webber's shot from the blue line, Balser makes a smart save to find Harry Sateri – 1:1 (35th).
The pace remained high in the final third, but both teams tried to commit as few mistakes as possible. Extra time was already brewing when Damien Brunner put his colors ahead again in the 55th minute.
But the residents of Zurich did not allow themselves to be upset, and kept their nerve even in extra time, opening the way to goal to reach the semi-finals.
