17-year-old Henry Burnet from Basel is often compared to Roger Federer, and not just because of his origins.

Henry Burnett has a big goal: he wants to be able to make a living from tennis. To do this, the Basel native left his parents' home at the age of 15 and moved to Biel. The move to the Swiss Tennis National Performance Center has paid off: the 17-year-old is on the cusp of making his Grand Slam debut.

At the beginning of June, Bernier will play for the first time in the French Junior Open in Paris. The tall young talent from TC Old Boys Basel has a good serve, not least thanks to his height of just over 1.90 metres.

But his trademark is the one-handed backhand. Along with Burnet's origins, club and talent, they are the main reason for comparison with Roger Federer. The “Maestro” also began his tennis career with the “Old Boys Basel” team. Some might describe watching his one-handed backhand as nothing short of pure joy.

Bernier cannot take the comparisons with Federer seriously. You can find out why this happened and what the Basel native is most looking forward to in his Grand Slam debut in the audio clip.
