After parting ways with coach Fabio Celestini, FC Sion relies on Frenchman David Bettoni.
The 51-year-old was Zinedine Zidane’s assistant at Real Madrid.
Bettoni will run Valais’ first training session on Tuesday afternoon.
Sion takes over as coach: David Bettoni takes over from the sacked Fabio Celestini. The Frenchman had supported his famous compatriot Zinedine Zidane for several seasons with Spanish giants Real Madrid – first with the B team and then with the Stars. He participated in winning three European Champions Leagues (2016, 2017 and 2018) and two Spanish Championships (2017 and 2020).
However, as a head coach, Bettoni only worked for the juniors at AS Cannes. As successor to the dismissed Celestini, he initially signed a contract until the end of the season.
The former professional player will lead the first training session at Valais on Tuesday. On Saturday, the guest appearance on Leader YB is the first main task. Sion are currently tied for second bottom in the Premier League with bottom club Winterthur.
