The survey also examined the views of foreign residents. The survey was available in German, Italian, French and English and was conducted in cooperation with LeeWas. LeeW modeled the survey data on demographic variables. The error rate was 0.7 percentage points.

“Swiss style of clothing is to be reckoned with”

The majority of foreigners surveyed give Switzerland good marks when it comes to fashion. Asked if the Swiss have good taste in fashion, 46 percent answered “yes” (8 percent) or “rather yes” (38 percent). However, 41 percent believe that the Swiss are not fashion-savvy. From the point of view of foreigners, the biggest fashion failures include white stockings, outerwear, and Birkenstock sandals.
