On Instagram, until 2019, Kylie Jenner's photo was the most liked photo on the platform. Until the image of an egg surpassed it. World_record_egg has over 60 million likes so far.

There will likely be a similar record on TikTok soon. TikToker Bella Poarch currently has the most liked video on the platform. The lip-sync clip has 795 million views and 64 million likes (as of February 27).

But now there's another video on the fast track. A simple snapshot of a bowl of strawberries and chocolate garnered 271 million views and 36 million likes.

User unknown

The video was uploaded by unknown user “pray4gabs”. No description, just the hashtags #fy, #foryou, #strawberry, #chocolate and #chocolatecoveredfruits. Bobby Caldwell's song “What You Won't Do for Love” from 1978 plays in the background. The viral video took the song to No. 1 on the TikTok Billboard Top 50.

Although the strawberry video did not even get half the views of the Bella Poarch video, it is the reason for Bella's success. Shortly after it was posted – on February 5th – Strawberries had 190 million views. Then Porsche's segment received a real boost. Since then, bets have been placed in the comments below both videos on which video will make it to the top. This brings more views for both TikToks. It was exactly this discussion that brought World_record_egg to the top.

Before the strawberry video, there were a few other contestants vying for the title of most liked video. like:

Lip drawing – 51.6 million likes

– “Sugar Crush” – 51.6 million likes

The reason for the success is not clear

The reason for the success of different videos is not clear to many people. There are countless users on the platform trying to explain how this happened. Everyone has a similar conclusion: people who use the platform have a strange sense of humor and the algorithm helps them.
