Kerttu Niskanen (FIN) won the race at Lenzerheide over 10km thanks to a real final race of 27:04 min 18sec ahead of Ebba Anderson (SWE). At the 7.4 km mark, Niskanen was two seconds behind Anderson. The Finn also benefited from the fact that at first it snowed heavily, which turned into frost during the race. Niskanen, who celebrated his first World Cup win in nearly 3 years, was awarded the Tour Leader’s yellow jersey by Jesse Diggins (USA).
Nadine Fähndrich demonstrated a successful reaction to the unsuccessful start of the sprint. The Lucerne resident coped well with the challenging conditions and took 14th place, trailing by about a minute. “I had great sleds, so a big thank you to the entire service team,” the 26-year-old said after the race.
So it continues
After a day’s rest, the cross-country skiers will continue on December 31 in Oberstdorf, Germany. In southern Bavaria, on the occasion of the third stage of the Tour, ski races over 15 km (men) and 10 km (women) are held. As usual, you can follow both contests live on the SRF channel.
