Preparations for High End 2024 in Munich are already underway in the Hamburg-based Reference Audio sales division: no wonder, because this time it's not just about getting all kinds of new products from the sales brands ready to travel, but also about celebrating. Private company anniversary.
Wilson watt/pup reloaded
The busy audio reference team is celebrating its 25th birthday this year – live at the High End (more information about the trade show can be found here). On this occasion, not only new products are introduced, but also an old friend who celebrates the Resurrection.
Myth: Much of Wilson Audio's success comes from the former Watt/Puppy
Namely, Wilson Audio's legendary Watt/Puppy, whose Series 5, released in 1994, can be seen above. This modular speaker consists of a compact two-way unit, which can also be combined with a bass-rich speaker system if desired. And since Wilson Audio celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, Watt/Puppy will be reissued. There are no official images of the new Watt/Puppy yet, so we recommend visiting Audio Reference at High End.
From audiophile speakers to gorgeous phono to ultra-clear racks
VPI's new record player comes with an unusual design
Several world premieres were also announced, and are new, as the press release states: Dan D'Agostino's “small” (it's all relative) series of amplifiers, a new cutting-edge driver from VPI, a Velodyne mono power amplifier and subwoofers Meridian desktop.
You can also experience an 11.1.6 channel system movie sound demo using Perlisten's THX Dominus certified speakers, as well as VTL tube amplifiers (including A new generation of the best Siegfried loudspeakers) the full range of dCS specialist digital instruments, racks and accessories from Bassocontinuo as well as the new 400-watt Krell KSA i-400 Series A machine.
