Tholot becomes the boss of Sion for the fourth time

FC Sion found a new coach after being relegated to the Challenge League. France’s Didier Tholot (59) captured the Valais for the fourth time. In 2003 (then as a player-coach) and 2009/2010 and from 2014 to 2016 he coached Sion in 131 matches. In 2009 and 2015, Tholot won the cup with Sion. Most recently, Tholot coached in Ligue 2, and his contract with FC Pau expired this summer. Now he has the difficult task of making Sion fit for promotion to the Premier League.

Majlica to Stuttgart

Matej Majlica returns to VfB Stuttgart after a year and a half at St. Gallen. The Bundesliga club took advantage of the buy-back option that it had agreed with the eastern Swiss when the Croatian changed hands. Maglica first came to St. Gallen on loan from the Swabians in January 2022 before being signed by Eastern Switzerland in the summer of the same year. The 24-year-old defender has played 52 times for St. Gallen.

Avdijaj returned to FCZ

After half a season at TSV Hartberg, Donis Avdijaj returned to FC Zurich. The 26-year-old Kosovar striker scored 7 goals in 16 appearances for the Austrian Bundesliga team during his loan spell. Avdijaj has played 16 official matches for FCZ so far and scored 3 goals in the European Cup.

The fairest players come from Geneva

Servette and Vaduz are the fairest teams last season. The two teams won the Swiss Football League’s Fair Play Cup, worth 50,000 Swiss francs. With 89 penalty points, Geneva was the fairest team in the Premier League. Champion YB takes second place with 95 points, followed by Winterthur with 104 points. In the Challenge League, FC Vaduz beat Yverdon (95) and Aarau (99) with 91 penalty points. The fair play award is given to those clubs in the first two divisions who have received the fewest warnings and dismissals.
