despite of Brushing your teeth is usually a short affairJust those two minutes when you look at yourself in the mirror somehow seem like an eternity. French manufacturer Fasteesh promises a significantly shorter cleaning time with its latest product.
With the Y-Brush, a toothbrush that covers your entire row of teeth at once, a gentle, thorough clean should be possible in just 30 seconds. Video producer Sarah tried it – and I asked dentist Hannah Selzner if it might even work.
About Hannah Selzner
Hanna Selzner is a dentist at the Dental Center Zug and a medical advisor at Swissdent.
Yes in front, less in the back
Sarah absolutely liked the part: After just ten seconds, she feels completely brushed for the front teeth at least, and the mouth feels just right. The situation is different for the back teeth: the bendable part does not reach them easily. Hannah Selzner also emphasizes this: “You cannot guarantee that every area of the tooth will be thoroughly cleaned.”
There are also jaws of different sizes, as the dentist explains in the video. The Y-Brush is only available in one size, which probably isn’t ideal for every mouth. And: “Even with Y-Brush, you can’t do without dental floss – no toothbrush in the world can replace dental floss.”
