Handball: National goalkeeper Leah Schubach suffers a cruciate ligament tear
The undisputed goalkeeper of the Swiss national handball team, Lea Schupach, tore her cruciate ligament a good year before the European Championship in Basel, and she must rest for several months after the necessary surgery. The 26-year-old player from Winterthur was injured while training with her German club Metzingen. The 2024 European Championship will be held from November 28 to December 15 in Switzerland, Austria and Hungary. The Swiss will play their three preliminary round matches in St. Jakobsall in Basel.
