Liechti bakery and confectionery with tea room on Bahnhofstrasse 4 invests in production technology and energy. By connecting to the Zollbrück heating network, the oil heating and the tank located on the ground floor can be removed. “This is a lucky circumstance to expand production areas that were previously somewhat cramped with a new room,” says Urs Liechti, who runs the company with his wife Nadia. An additional freezing cell will also be installed for this. It is planned to store the waste heat from all cooling systems and use it for heating and preparing hot water. “We only need energy from district heating when there is not enough energy in the heat storage tank,” continues Liechti. With today’s technology, switching is done automatically.
The kitchen will also undergo a facelift with a stretch. “On the balcony, we want to replace the existing street-side windbreak wall with a glass and metal construction,” Liechti explains. The building structure will be partially renovated and given a new look.
Nadia and Urs Leste acquired the bakery in 2014 from Andreas and Christine Leste, Ors’ parents. Today, a total of 21 people work full-time and part-time in the company, and Liechtis also trains apprentices.
