Credit Suisse will close 14 of its 109 Swiss branches by the end of February.
Two other branches are being converted into consulting sites.
It is not yet known which branches are affected.
According to a CS spokesperson, the reason for the shutdown is primarily the changing behavior of customers. Credit Suisse customers are increasingly using online and mobile offers and are no longer coming to the branch.
As part of the recently announced cost metrics, the branch network will now be adjusted.
Ten days ago, Credit Suisse embarked on a major corporate restructuring. This will be accompanied by broad job cuts. Accordingly, the bank wants to cut 9,000 jobs out of 53,000 jobs today. The bank plans to cut 2,700 jobs worldwide this year. About 20 percent of them are in Switzerland.
