Swiss-Western host Infomaniak is launching an instant messaging service. The service includes 100 daily ChatGPT prompts – but only until offering a proprietary AI solution to help with text entry.
Infomaniak launches instant messaging software with ChatGPT integration. A person using the service called kChat can call ChatGPT up to 100 times a day in the app, for example to get help with text creation. However, ChatGPT integration is only temporary: the Geneva-based host wants to develop its own alternative to ChatGPT and integrate it into the service, with full control over the data, the company says. If necessary, the AI function can also be deactivated.
According to the announcement, the messaging service offers the following functions:
- Communicate in teams with direct, public, or private channels (with internal and external users)
- Send messages and files (up to 100MB) with preview
- Audio and video calls with screen sharing
- Prioritize messages with read receipts
- Unified mailbox with follow-up discussions
- Back up important messages
- Quick search for chats and files
- Customize notifications
- Message reminder function
- Translate news in French, German, English, Italian and Spanish
- Support for GIFs, emojis and animations
- Available for macOS, Windows, Linux, Android and iOS
Infomaniak markets the service as part of kSuite – a suite of productivity tools including cloud storage, a mail service, and a video conferencing solution. The messaging service does not evaluate any data, is in line with Swiss data protection law and the General Data Protection Regulation and is developed and hosted in Switzerland, Infomaniak promises.
By the way, at the end of March, Infomaniak launched paid premium support, which, among other things, aims to provide an emergency service with three levels of guaranteed response times. Read more here.
