Century – Little Violet 4:2. Fourth win of the season for Horner’s Ladies – in a 4-2 win over Young Violets, the lead was almost doubled – from six to ten. What’s more: with this win, Horner’s women not only maintained their place outside the relegation zone, but also improved to seventh place.

“No one can expect that anymore,” coach Manfred Steidl said with a laugh. And also because the omens before the match were not good again. Midfielder Maria Wimmer tore her medial cruciate ligament in training and will be out for the rest of the season. Like Laura Case, Lena Fornkranz was absent due to illness, and Natasha Neumayer was also unable to play.

After the visitors’ next chance, the Horn team responded perfectly again, with Lisa Rammell making it 3-1. It was also Rammell who made it 4-1 in stoppage time before the Vienna side could even make up the cosmetic score.

The Horners enter the winter break with a sense of accomplishment. Steidl hopes the team will get to work there. “We need three or four new players to have more width, otherwise we will waste young talent who are not physically ready yet.”
