GARTENSTADT No. 1 in the German Album Charts

This puts the 25-year-old from Ludwigshafen ahead of Niall Horan, who released his record THE SHOW.

GARTENSTADT, Apache 207’s new album, was released on June 9. The fact that the rapper from Ludwigshafen is enjoying commercial success with his projects is nothing new. His current record is no exception, because with GARTENSTADT, Vulkan Yaman, as the Apache is called in civil society, climbed to first place in the German Album Charts a. That puts him ahead of One Direction member Niall Horan THE SHOW, who is in second place.

Over the course of 42 minutes, the 25-year-old blends a variety of musical influences — R’n’B, HipHop, and Eurodance, to name a few — to create his own pop sound. Lyrically, Apache shows a vulnerable side: he sings about heartbreak and his difficult childhood. The single “Komet”, featuring Udo Lindenberg, has been in the Singles Charts for 20 weeks, where it currently occupies the second position.

ME author Anastasia Rutkowski says in her review, “Honestly, it’s pretty ubiquitous, and not entirely original either, but just as perfect for a long car or motorcycle ride on a summer’s evening.” The three and a half out of a possible six stars on MUSIKEXPRESS didn’t seem to detract from the record’s mainstream appeal.
