29 teams from the primary schools of Nagold and the Rohrdorfer Malmenschule will fight for the coveted podium spots under the guidance of the Friends of the Football Promotion Association of VfL Nagold.

“Primary school children are already eager to compete in beach soccer,” explains Marcus Bruce, president of the association, speaking of Nagold’s former beach soccer tournaments. For the third time, the event will be held in the Longueuil square extension.

25 tons of sand gives you a beach feel

For many years, the beach soccer arena has occupied its usual spot at Nagolder Vorstadtplatz. Although some people mourned the loss of the cool, Longwy-Platz with its proximity to Waldach and Nagold provides a more beachy feel. This is also ensured by nearly 25 tons of sand being piled into the arena at the two-day tournament. “Participants here must have fun, and the beach soccer tournament is always a real event for the students,” says Marcus Bruce.

The Nagolder Beach Soccer Championship for Elementary Schools has long become a staple for many children. Young players have been looking forward to their performances on the soccer field for weeks. It will therefore be interesting to see how the teams with their fanciful names like Bärenklasse, Feuer und Flammen or Wilde Wölfe present themselves in a stadium made of Rhine sand. Championships start on Saturday 8 July at 10am and Sunday at 11am – with the VfL Nagold Big Kids Sports Festival taking place in the Kleb on Sundays.
