Final two stages abandoned – Cologna leaves Tour de Ski prematurely – Sport

• Dario Colonna will not be running in the last two races of the Tour de Ski in Val di Fiemme.
• Bündner’s best rating on this year’s tour was 15th place for skiing over 15km in Oberstdorf.
• For the 35-year-old Cologne, it was her last ski ride. He will step down at the end of the season.

“The biggest target for me this season is still the Beijing Winter Olympics. A severe dry cough increased again this year during the Tour, which hampered good regeneration. Plus, in terms of performance, a few are still missing at the moment. Dario Colonna said of his decision, “I think I can fill that gap better with early renewal and the incorporation of targeted training compared to the other two strong Tour de Ski competitions.”

SRF cross-country expert Adriano Iseppi understands the four-round winner’s withdrawal: “Maybe it was the right decision.” Iseppi is not confident that Cologna will give up the race he would have liked to fight: “If he wants to achieve the goal he set in the form of a medal, he still has to take a giant step.”
