Final Fantasy XVI: Patch 1.03 with many detail improvements

In fact, there shouldn’t even be a one-day patch for Final Fantasy XVI, but Square Enix seems to have missed the point. The Medium Wave update to version 1.03 is available for download, which brings with it many detail improvements.

There is no doubt that Final Fantasy XVI’s release status was indeed very round. Square Enix was so confident that it was previously announced that there should not be a Day 1 patch for the new entry in the legendary series. As you know, this promise could not be fully fulfilled, because the first update was released, which mainly concerned the performance of the title.

Another patch is now available for download, with version number 1.03. It doesn’t change any core elements of Final Fantasy XVI, but it does make detailed improvements.

For example, the game now offers you three more controller layouts. You can also adjust the strength of the motion blur and you can set how far the camera should follow your hero Clive.

Here are the full patch notes in English:

  • Adds the following items to the System tab of the main menu:
    • Motion Blur Strength: Allows the player to adjust the strength of the motion blur effect when the character or camera is in motion. The default setting is 5. Max. This can be lowered to reduce the strength of the motion blur effect, or set to 0 to turn it off completely.
    • Follow Player (Movement) / Follow Player (Attack): Turning these settings off prevents the camera from automatically following a player during movement and attack, respectively.
  • Changes the maximum setting for the Camera Sensitivity (Horizontal) and Camera Sensitivity (Vertical) items from 10 to 20.
  • Adds three new controller layouts: D, E, and F.
  • Corrects an issue that affected the stability of some menus.
  • Correct some text issues.
  • Adds the hashtag #FF16 when sharing screenshots on Twitter or YouTube.
