Taylor Greene, known for his blistering rhetoric, conspiracy theories, and extreme posturing, recently called far-right Rep. Lauren Boebert a “little bitch” in a congressional debate. That was reportedly the impetus behind talks to expel the 49-year-old from the Freedom Caucus, which includes a few dozen more radical Republicans.

However, the background may also be a strategic alliance that Taylor Greene has entered into in recent months: She has turned to the more moderate Republican majority leader in the House of Representatives in Congress, Kevin McCarthy. Among other things, she is said to have helped McCarthy get an unpopular right-wing compromise with President Joe Biden through the house in a debt dispute.
