David Schneig before his move to the United States – will the successor come from Hartberg?

Sturm's left-back David Schneig is likely to leave for champions and cup winners Sturm. There is interest from the USA, the change seems logical – after all, Schneig's girlfriend lives in the USA. The club that Schenig will move to is said to be DC United. Schneig played 28 Bundesliga matches for Sturm last season, and also made his debut for the ÖFB national team. The Tyrolean came to Sturm from Venice in the summer of 2022. Amado Dante's return to Switzerland after his loan at FC Zurich. The Swiss have a purchase option in the loan agreement. A logical successor to Schneig is currently making his money in an area not far from Graz. Hartberg left-back Manuel Pfeiffer is said to have sparked interest from Graz. It is not the first club to be interested in Pfeiffer – says Hartberg sporting director Markus Schopp. The 50-year-old also confirms: No one has asked Sturm Hartberg about Pfeiffer yet. But: “The player has aroused desire. If he can take the next step like that, then I'm happy,” says Schoep. Sports and Economics “Anyone under contract with Hartberg is not there for the money.”

Not even ÖFB international Maximilian Entrup, in whom LASK are said to be very interested. Same story: still no request from LASK for the central striker. “The clubs also know that we are still playing and choose the appropriate time to submit the application,” says Schopp. Hartberg's team will meet on Friday and Tuesday with Vienna, Austria, in the European Cup playoff.
