Crazy glitch! Is a medical car better than a Formula 1 driver? The graphics at USA GP cause laughter

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DAMAGE… – A sketch shown around free practice in Austin (fast-track penalty shootout from 7.30pm on LIVETICKER) has sparked a lot of laughter in the Formula 1 scene – except for the injured Logan Sargeant.

A chart showing the status of the driver standings was briefly displayed, which showed Max Verstappen, who was already world champion, clearly ahead of team-mate Sergio Perez and Mercedes star Lewis Hamilton.

So far, so good – but if you follow the list to the end, you might have noticed two names that are not yet known to Formula 1 drivers: “Medical Car 1” and “Safety Car 2”.

It became even stranger, because Medical Car 1 had already scored two points and was ahead of Sargent, who had none, in the drivers’ standings.

It was all the more bittersweet for the Williams driver that this happened at his home match in the USA, where there were likely to be more Americans watching than usual.

It is not clear how this incorrect drawing came to be. Instead of ‘Medical Car 1’ there should have been Liam Lawson, who scored two points when he replaced the injured Daniel Ricciardo in Qatar. Interestingly, Australian Ricciardo was also absent from the list and was placed by ‘Safety Car 2’.

Anyway, Formula 1 fans had fun and, among other things, advised Sargeant to pick up tips and tricks from “Medical Car 1”.

In any case, it was too late to qualify for the US Grand Prix – Sargeant finished last. A small consolation: this time at least ‘Medical Car 1’ wasn’t listed in front of him on the results chart.
