The film legend's 88-year-old son and daughter have been publicly fighting for weeks. It doesn't have to be about inheritance.
The will has been written, but the old man is losing his mind and his children fear he will change it again: it seems that what happens in the best families also happens among the three children of the 88-year-old French film star Alain Delon.
Although everyone involved denies they are concerned about the inheritance, the actor's two sons and daughter have been publicly fighting for weeks over the appropriate way to deal with their seriously ill father.
The Three A's – 59-year-old Anthony, 33-year-old Anushka, and 29-year-old Alain Fabien – are mainly arguing over whether Alain Delon should spend his final days at the family home in France or move to Switzerland. The actor resides in Switzerland and holds dual citizenship.
His daughter Anushka also lives in Switzerland and has been trying to bring her father there for a long time. However, she stresses that Switzerland's low inheritance tax does not play a role. “The only reason for this is because he has to be treated there by specialists,” she recently told TF1.
Anthony on Anushka: “Being confident about anything”
Anthony, who has had little contact with his younger siblings for a long time, accuses Anushka of unfair intentions. “A person who manipulates and lies to the family can do anything,” he told Paris Match magazine last week. He also stated that he reported his allegations to the police.
This sparked a wave of legal controversy: the father's lawyer announced a libel suit against Anthony. The younger brother, Alain Fabian, explained that he, in turn, is suing his sister, who, in his opinion, is exploiting his father's weakness. He also published a secret recording in which Anushka warns her father about falling into a trap.
Years of unequal treatment of children
Anthony was four years old when his father separated from his mother. He grew up with his godfather and drifted into petty crimes in his youth. Alain Delon always preferred his daughter to the two boys, whom he called “the new Romy” in reference to his most famous lover, Romy Schneider.
According to the Paris Match website, Anushka not only obtained a leadership position in the company that manages her father's licenses and advertising contracts, but she also obtained a villa with her own swimming pool on the Delon estate in Duchy, south of Paris. She was the only one who had Dillon 2019 in Cannes He accompanied him when he received the Medal of Honor for his life's work.
But above all, the actor left half of his assets to his daughter – according to his son Anthony – in his will, while the two sons should receive only a quarter each. A decision that may not have contributed to the unity of the three siblings.
Actor and housekeeper
The only time the three of them agreed was when they took action against another rival for the inheritance last year. Together they have filed a lawsuit against Hiromi Rolin, the actor's longtime Japanese colleague. They suspected that she wanted to marry Alain Delon and thus secure part of the inheritance.
Ruolin was forced out of Dillon's mansion. The proceedings have now been halted, but Rollin now accuses the siblings of interrupting Alain Delon's medical treatment. “By doing so, they put his life in danger,” she told RTL radio on Thursday.
It is not known how bad the performance of Alain Delon, who suffered several strokes in 2019, is. “Sometimes he is there mentally, sometimes he is not,” is how Alain-Fabien Delon describes the actor's condition in the latest issue of the magazine “Paris Match”. “He keeps asking me if it's morning or evening,” he adds. It seems possible that Alain Delon no longer notices many of his children's arguments.
