Apple’s upcoming mixed reality headset is expected to offer a slew of features that other headsets don’t have. Apple’s virtual and augmented reality glasses are expected to be unveiled at WWDC in June. While speculation so far has mostly revolved around the capabilities of the hardware, the list of features and functions appears to be quite extensive.

The new wellness app will focus on meditation with immersive graphics and soothing sounds. A VR-oriented Fitness + app for training with a headset will be included. Developers can also run “hundreds of thousands” of fresh third-party iPad apps from the App Store with minimal customization.

However, Apple will unveil a Mac-based software development kit and headphone emulator to help developers create new apps and services for xrOS, which is the assumed name for the headphone operating system. A big focus will be on gaming, with “high quality titles” from third party providers. The video site allows users to view media while immersing themselves in a virtual environment. The headset can also be used as an external monitor for a connected Mac, similar to Meta Horizon Workrooms.
