With a winning streak of six matches, Germany’s G2 Esports team Rainbow Six, along with three other European League teams, qualified for the Six Major in Mexico.

Only Russia’s Empire was able to hold out against G2 in the final round and interrupted Team Berlin’s streak in overtime (8:6). After the penultimate place in the first stage, Empire became one of the best teams in the league and reached first place in the table on the last day of the European League.

“I feel really great,” Russian player Daniel “JoyStiCK” Gapov said after the win. “We focused on our matches and tried to fix our mistakes. We are in a very good shape at the moment.”

In addition to G2 and Empire, European favorites BDS Exports and Natus Vincere have also qualified to participate in the specialty to be held in Mexico. In mid-August, the teams will compete for the title with twelve other international teams.

Games are played on site and without spectators in compliance with strict hygiene rules. In addition to winning the title, the position of the teams in the table also determines the qualification points they must collect for admission to the Six Invitational, the Rainbow Six World Championship.

Until then, German teams still have to play in the last two days of GSA League matches. The Europa League will only continue after the flagship in September.
