“He would have saved me the data”
Akanji interview upsets BVB chief
BVB Sports Director Sebastian Keel accuses Nati star Manuel Akanji, 27, of unfair night skipping after his interview with Blick. Before CL beat Manchester City against Dortmund, the German said he could have saved himself from the comments.

Sebastian Kell, BVB’s sports director, is not too pleased with Akanji’s comments.
The statements made by Manuel Akanji in Blake’s interview were not well received by his former club, Borussia Dortmund.
Before my Champions League match against Man City, BVB sporting director Sebastian Keel (42) criticized: “He wrote a lot on the subject of Akanji. He told us early on that he wanted to leave the club and then we brought in new centre-backs. We were going to extend with him. I would gladly, but I would spare myself these words in his place.”
Star Nati Akanji explains: Is Manchester United really his favorite club?(04:43)
Manuel Akanji joined Manchester City on deadline day. This is after he was fired in BVB for wanting a change. He was still allowed to train with Borussia. With Niklas Sule and Nico Schlutterbeek, new defenders have been placed in front of the 27-year-old. After the expulsion, Akanji was slightly critical of BVB’s behavior at Blick. It was not only seen in the German media, but also clearly in the BVB, as a bad night move.
Appease BVB coach Terzic
Dortmund coach Edin Terzic (39) also commented on Akanji’s statements before the match. Terzic considered this more relaxed than his boss Sebastian Kehl: “I am glad that Manu fulfilled his wish and that he managed to move to a top club, even if it was only on the deadline. We look forward to seeing him again.”
Because Akanji was no longer playing, Terzic explained, “it wasn’t an easy situation” in the meantime, “neither for Manu nor for us.”
Akanji standing in the reeds when BVB abdicated
Newcomers Akanji and Erling Haaland won the match against his former club 2-1. Of all things, two ex-Dortmund players crashed when a cross from Reus’ winger was given the opening goal by Judd Bellingham. John Stones and Erling Haaland turned the match in the final minutes. (honor)
