It’s a joyous cycling festival that reaches the legend Alpe d’Huez. Although not all fans know how to act.
The really big scene is missing. Tom Bidcock won the King stage on this year’s Tour of France, which leads over three trails for categorie horses (Col de Gallibert, Col de la Croix de Fer and Alpes d’Huez) and a total distance of 165.5 kilometers as a soloist.
The Briton is a multi-talented player on the bike, and he won the Olympic gold medal in mountain biking in Tokyo 2021, ahead of Switzerland’s Matthias Flückiger.
Pogacar . recovered
Tadej Pogacar is trying it after his sudden landing on Wednesday twice. But Jonas Weinggaard does not allow himself to get rid of him, he confidently defends his yellow jersey. The Slovenian (the fifth day) and the Dane (the sixth) reach the finish line at the same time (3:23 minutes after Pidcock) as the Briton Gerant Thomas (the seventh).
The French have to bear a burden on their national holiday. Romain Bardet (11th) and David Gaudo (13th) can’t keep up with the best and waste time. Pogacar is second to Bardet in the overall standings.
Vingegaard leads this ahead of Pogacar (2:22 backwards) and Thomas (2:26 backwards). Bardet is now fourth, trailing 2:35 minutes. (yes)
Swiss victory only: Here Beat Breu won the Alpe d’Huez in 1982(00:27)
